Film | Ted 2 Official Trailer

Everyone’s favourite foul-mouthed, rude-mannered teddy bear is back in the newly released trailer for Ted 2. The Seth MacFarlane-directed film is the follow-up to the original, which came out back in 2012. Mark Wahlberg stars as John Bennett, who, as a boy, wished that his beloved stuffed animal would come alive to be his friend. Thirty years later, Ted and John are still best buds, getting into all sorts of trouble together. In the sequel, Ted has finally settled down and gotten married. He and his new wife want to have a child but first, he must prove that he is “human”. The first one was full of laughs and, surprisingly, a lot of heart so this one is bound to be one to look forward to, as well. Ted 2 stars Mark Wahlberg, Seth MacFarlane and Amanda Seyfried. Check out the trailer below.

Music | Lil Wayne – Sorry 4 The Wait 2

Lil Wayne couldn’t make it any clearer to his fans and everyone in the music industry, that the business bond between Cash Money and Young Money has been severed and officially no more. With the delay of his Carter 5 album, which was due for release last year, there was a lot of talk about his album being pushed back due to arrival of newer rappers onto the Cash Money roster who took priority over his own projects on the label. To apologise to his loyal fans, Lil Wayne has blessed us with a interim album, in the way of Sorry for the Wait 2.

The intro track, is his version of the club banger Coco, which brings you up to speed and tells you what is what regarding him, and his future with Cash Money. It’s fair to say Lil Wayne has no regrets wanting to leave Cash Money, and is looking forward to his future.

As you listen to the album it’s your typical Lil Wayne flavour until you get to track 11, which is his version of “You Guessed It”. The shots he takes at Birdman on this track are epic, and he has renamed the hook to “Bitch You Jealous”. Lil Wayne has once again delivered a undisputed banger filled 17 track album, with no fillers.

If you haven’t downloaded the free album, jump onto Datpiff and do it now, and I’m looking forward to Carter 5 dropping this spring, no one can stop Lil Wayne’s productions and creative release flow now, it’s Young Money only now, and the future is bright, no more dry rubbing hands.

Music | Rick Ross – Master Mind

Rick Ross doesn’t fail to keep dropping classic hiphop albums, yes that’s right I said it classic! He is about to release his sixth studio album “MasterMind”. I’ve had the privelidge of having a full listen to the album from start to finish, and back again. As with his previous albums, he takes you on his own musical journey, bringing along the way some heavy hitters to join him, whether it be on the production side, or guests to rap along with. One point of this album which is refreshing to hear, especially from a South based rapper, is that Rick Ross has steered clear of the modern, common sounding trap beats and records that all of the other rappers are commonly producing. Yes, it helps with club bangers, but a change of style shows diversity in the music, rather than every track sounding the same.

On the album, Rick Ross revisits the attempted murder on his life last year, when his Rolls Royce Ghost was shot upon, not sure if the EMS call was a legit one, but his reminder to his fans and enemies, that he is still here, and still doing what he does best, a strong minded business man. I’d have to say I’m a fan of the complete album, all tracks, it certainly isn’t one of those albums I’d skip tracks and get to my favourites. Now, upon producing this certified heat of a album, I should expect all future albums, and mixtapes from the MMG family to be of a equal quality, and not of what they dropped with “Self Made 3”, that was a huge disappointment to say the least.

My Overall rating for MasterMind – 8/10 (no ones perfect)

Fashion | Air Jordan Future releasing 15.03.14

The almighty, success driven Jordan brand has done it again, they are bring us what they call “Future” or rightly named, Air Jordan Future. Now I’ll be honest, the first images of this sneaker, had me like no way, I don’t like that. But now that the brand has released official images prior to it’s March 15th release, I have to say, my opinion has changed dramatically. This is a luxury looking sneaker, and a fine looking one at that. The Jumpman brand have done away with a leather upper for this sneaker, and have given it the woven material treatment. They say that this creation is “symbiotic relationship between the court and the street”. The Future silhouette is designed with an Air Jordan XI sole with a chukka style upper, complete with an asymmetrical lace-up system.

Jordan Brand’s description of the sneaker says:

With a carbon fiber plate and full-length air outsole, the Jordan Future offers lightweight comfort and cushioning. Enhancing the minimalist nature of the shoe, the deconstructed upper foregoes a heel counter and toe enforcer. The asymmetrical lacing reduces pressure across the top of the foot, while the suede interior and ankle collar enhance comfort.

The release date for the Jordan Future is Saturday 15th March, and the colour ways they have shown us are that of the Black / Glow OR Black/ Infrared version. In my opinion, I will purchase one for sure, something different and as the name says, it’s looking ahead to the Future, not trying to recreate the OG colourways and designs that so many sneaker heads would like to see protected, and remain as classics with no re-productions.

News | Jordan 11 Gamma Blue Violence

It’s not my thing to really write about negative stories, but this is one that has hit me. On Saturday 21st December 2013, Nike released it’s brand new colour way of the beloved Tinker designed Air Jordan 11. The colour way is called Gamma Blue due to it being the only other colour on the sneaker apart from the all black upper, lower and maize Jumpman writing on the tongue. Now the sneaker, here in the UK, was a massive general release, to the point JD Sports, Footlocker, and Nike released the sneaker at Midnight online. I’m guessing this was done to reduce congestion at stores with release day hype queues and the ability to streamline resellers buying multiple pairs. Whatever the reason, it was a good one.

I on the other hand went to my favourite sneaker spot to pick up the sneakers, Nike Town London. The organisation, and hospitality is beyond the best, and after a short wait of about 45 minutes from arrival, I paid for and had my own pair of the new Jordan 11 Gamma Blues. A very calm shopping experience as it should always be. Now, in the States, this is not the case. I’ve seen multiple videos of fights breaking out in-stores, also on the street to the point where police have been forced to use mace to break up the carnage. Also footlocker stores being broken into and shutters being destroyed just to get the sneakers. What I don’t understand is why? Is your life really that minimal that you start swinging punches at a person to own a pair of them? I have to say I am ashamed to apart of the Snead culture if this is what is to become on release days, but on the other hand, as an American in the UK, i can say their standard of doing things is second to none. Take note US retailers, organisation is key.

Fashion | Nike Air Tech Challenge Returns

Over the recent years, we have been treated to many re-release, re-constructed and invented colour ways of our beloved sneakers from the late 80’s and 90’s. In 2013 The Air Jordan 3 & 5 saw a fair few releases and new colour ways, which were a hit with new lovers to the brand, but many on the fence OG fans would not cop to them and passed those releases by, which would answer the question of why so many of them stayed on the shelf, in full sizes for so long after release day. Well 2014 will be bringing more retro sneakers, in OG colour ways, and many dressed in new colours. Not only is the Jordan brand brining back the Jordan 6 with a bang, but the beloved Huarache based Air Tech Challenge will see a re-release in January.

nike_airtechchallenge_d1

For those that are not familiar with this sneaker, could be due to the fact that it was mainly rocked by Tennis players, who followed the man who inspired it, Mr Andre Aggasi. Originally released in 1992, the sneaker adopts a mid silhouette offering greater ankle support whilst maintaining the Huarache neoprene sock liner before being finished with colours and patterns that are undoubtedly 90s. This is certainly a release I will be adding to my collection upon release…will you?

Music | Meek Mill "Dream Chasers 3"

True to creative form, Maybach Music Group artist Meek Mill has released his third volume in his Dream Chasers mixtape series via Datpiff (free download). I was very reserved about this mixtape, due to the massive disappointment of Self Made 3, so I expected more of the same, which isn’t good. To my great surprise and enjoyment Meek Mill has once again delivered a mixtape that should and could succeed as a iTunes purchasable album.
Dj Drama once again is the host for the mixtape, and once again the main club bangers in this mixtape has Dj Drama talking all over the tracks and dropping his samples, so for many club goers you won’t be hearing any professional DJ playing these in the clubs, which I feel is bad promo when they can become hits like House Party from Dream Chasers 1.
The mixtape has features which include Nicki Minaj, O Melly, Travis Scott, Birdman, Puffy, Yo Gotti, French Montana,  and of course the MMG Boss and Meek’s mentor Rick Ross is on there as well. The tracks that I feel are the heavy hitters and stand out over the rest are Lil Snupe, Meek’s tribute to his artist who was fatally killed before he made it stardom. On the mixtape you can hear the hunger and natural lyrical talent of Lil Snupe, it’s a shame and lost for the hip hop industry, he could have been a great artist. The other track that has been on replay is Heaven or Hell featuring Jadakiss & Gourdo Banks.
Meek Mill didn’t spare any expense on the producers, which included Boi-1, Super CED, The Mechanics and top producers Scott Scorch. This tells you the levels Meek Mill has pulled together for Dream Chasers 3, and yes it’s worth the Free download from Datpiff, you won’t be disappointed.
Conclusion – Meek Mill has once again delivered a timeless mixtape, and I look forward to his next release.

Fashion | Jay Z x HUBLOT "Shawn Carter Watch"

Is there nothing that Jay Z can’t do in this modern age, that doesn’t influence our culture away from music? Answer to that is, well no. Mr Shawn Carter has influenced so much in our modern age from Music, Art, Movies, Sport, Design and don’t forget his imprint in Fashion via his Rocawear brand. It would only seem right that Jigga has teamed up with one of the most spoken about watch manufactures in music and sport HUBLOT,  whom have never been shy about collaborations with artists, sports teams and even players like Lebron James, to create some very original time pieces.

Now in the Classic Fusion collection, you will be able to find the “Shawn Carter” watch. Designed by its namesake himself, the Shawn Carter by HUBLOT Classic Fusion features the SC logo cut into the dial, front and center, not only revealing some of the precise inner workings of the movement, but adding a bit of edge to the smooth face. Measuring 45mm in diameter, the piece encapsulates HUBLOT’s 2.90mm HUB 1300 hand-wound movement, arriving in two different make-ups: a black ceramic and a yellow gold, both with a black leather strap and a strict limit of 250 pieces and 100 each, respectively. The watch is set to launch exclusively at Barney’s. This release will be limited to 350 pieces, so if you want one, I’d make those calls to reserve from now.

Release date : November 30th

Fashion | Air Jordan Retro 12 "Gamma Blue"

So it’s looking like the holiday season will be packed with heat coming from the Jumpman brand. There are images of a Air Jordan 11 nickname “Gamma Blue” doing the rounds. Along with the Air Jordan 11 Taxi being released this winter, it would seem that the Jumpman brand will be dropping this new colour way for the masses.  No release information has been posted out officially by Nike, but the early birds are taking orders, and the chinese whispers are heating up about this release. Fashion | Nike Air Max 90 Premium – Grey / Volt

Just because summer is officially over for many of us, that doesn’t mean that Nike Sportwear stop bringing the freshness for the winter months ahead. Check out this new colourway, and material set up they have put on the classic Nike Air Max 90 Premium.

Nike_AirMax_Grey_Volt_01

The primary colour and material is grey suede, which follows through out most of the sneaker including the mid-sole, Nike Swoosh and lacing tabs. The ankle collar and outer sole is where the Volt kicks in, to bring this sneaker to life, and lights up any dark evening walk home from work or to the gym.

This colour way is set for release next month, keep an eye out for it, as I can see this being snapped up quickly.

Video | Mike Will Made It – 23 ft Miley Cyrus

As soon as the dust started to settle after MileyGate on the VMA’s, hit producer Mike Will Made It releases the video for his forthcoming, Air Jordan tribute track “23”. The track features Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J and of course Miley Cyrus. In the video, do a count of how many exclusive Jordan’s you can count, because it’s allot. And to top it off, of course Miley is a heavy feature in the video. I’m a Miley fan, and she has done well in this video and vocally on the track. Her outfits I can see allot of females in the clubs will try to replicate, shame they don’t know how much them Jordan 23 throwbacks really cost. Have a watch of the video, don’t worry, it’s work safe haha.

Video | Drake – Hold On

Drake finally dropped the video for the single “Hold On, We’re Going Home”, from his future classic album NWTS. The video is based in 1985, and plays like movie, with Drake taking the lead, and his team have to rescue his kidnapped girlfriend from his competition. It’s good to see another video from the current hip hop community that isn’t a cliche video, but the theatrics of this video are not to be taken too serious, it’s a music video people not real life.

Latest Pick Ups | Air Huarache Blk/Blk

September has been a quiet month for me in regards to sneakers. I’m guessing this was due to the mass spend up, and releases over the summer months. The Air Huarache Black/ Black has been on my radar for a few months since being told about it, by Foot Locker staff before the summer. The full black colour way is certainly one that can blend in with any outfit, if you have owned a pair of Air Huarache’s then you’ll know these are by far one of the most comfortable runners that Nike have engineered.

I was pleased when I saw pictures posted on Instagram of the quiet release these had last week, and selling out in no time. They have been restocked once again in limited numbers, and of course I had to grab them. As always a massive thanks to the staff at Foot Locker Croydon for always looking out for me.

Tech | Belkin x Lego Builder iPhone 5 Case

This will be the first accessory I purchase for my new iPhone, when it eventually gets launched worldwide. Back in February, Belkin announced they  would be teaming up with LEGO on a multi-year licensing partnership to create “innovative and fun accessories” for mobile devices. They’ve now officially announced the release of their ‘builder case.’ It’s designed with a hard plastic back for scratch-resistance and a semi-flexible outer frame for shock-absorption. But the moulded design of the back means it can accommodate those LEGO bricks, in any way you want to build them. You can buy the case now direct from Belkin and watch the video below for some inspiration on what to create.

Fashion | Big Sean x Adidas Pro Model II "All Black"

From Motown crooners to Marshall Mathers, Detroit has produced its share of artists. While the city serves as a historical hub for icons in music and athletics alike, the blue collar cornerstone of the Mitten has not seen many stars selected for a signature shoe. Following an all-red debut last winter, Big Sean looks to solidify his spot in D-Town’s heart and in the footwear Hall of Fame with the Big Sean x adidas Originals Pro Model II “All-Black”. Stamping his city on the box and his lyrics on the lining, this collaborative sequel coincides with his upcoming album launch in lux fashion.

Italian leather graces the all-black base, embossed with snakeskin scales for a high fashion feel. Gunmetal accents set off the logos and lace tips, with “HOF” debrays denoting his sophomore effort with G.O.O.D. Music. While the first Big Sean x adidas Pro Model II release was limited to only 380 pairs, this stealth sequel will be available to a bigger audience. Check out detailed images of the “All-Black” Big Sean Pro Models below and look for them to launch at select adidas Originals accounts on August 31st for $160.

INTERVIEW x Jasmine Dominique

On a brisk winter afternoon, we met up with photographer and artist Jasmine Dominique, to get a insight as to what makes her tick creatively.

What made you pursue the creative side of Photography & Art?

I know it’s a cliché thing to say but I’ve been creative my whole life, since I can remember. I’ve drawn all the time since I was small and always just experimented and tried things out because it’s just something that I’ve continued to enjoy throughout life.

If there is a reason for me continuing to ‘pursue’ being creative it’s just because being creative enables me to express different parts of myself and it’s the only thing that will always be there and always just make me feel like the best version of myself, and because it’s just something that I have an unexplainable passion for, and when you’re genuinely passionate about something you’ll chase it forever, especially if it’s origin is mysterious to you.

Where do you get your creative influences from?

I’m influenced by loads of stuff really. If I think initial influences, my family and background have influenced me a lot. My Nana and Granddad on my Mum’s side both used to travel all over the world teaching and were both interested in culture and history etc.  My Nana was also an archaeologist and went to Egypt when I was really small so I’ve been obsessed with Ancient Egypt since I was 2, that comes out a lot in my drawings and other elements of my creative work.

Also, my Mum has always been crazy and creative, although art has been more of a hobby for her than a career path, but she has definitely influenced me a tonne throughout my life, in every way possible. Again cliché but I don’t give a fuck, my mum is actually the best person in the world. Sorry

Who & What inspires you?

Everything is inspiration. Life inspires me. Books inspire me. My family inspire me. People inspire me a lot, I’m always reading up about people and researching how they got to where they are, what influenced them, taking notes of their style whether it’s film, music, art, whatever.

Recently I’ve mainly been reading Machiavelli, but then also reading Angelina Jolie’s book about her UN work, so I get inspiration from all kinds of things and people. Obviously my interests like art, music, culture, fashion, film is a huge inspiration and one of the things inspiring me most at the moment along with music, politics, history, travel. I’m a big person for lifestyle and experiences and chance so I think everything however big or small counts towards what goes into your work.

Who would you like to Collaborate with creatively?

I’ve actually never thought of whom I would collaborate with if I could. I have no idea. There are so many possibilities for collaboration. Obviously if it was possible Id work with Sergio Leone. We have the same birthday so it was clearly meant to be, in another universe. I’d like to work with Insa, I’m big on graffiti because it was the biggest influence of mine when I first started getting serious about art in my teens, Miss Van & Fafi also big influences because I draw girls. I’d like to work maybe with David Lachapelle or Tim Walker photography wise, or maybe Rankin? Although as much as I like the flawless outrageous fashion editorial style I’m also big on gritty, dark images, derelict locations, anything that’s just falling apart.

Is there an Artist or Entertainer you would like to photograph?

There is a lot of people Id like to take photos of. Angelina Jolie (who wouldn’t) , Clint Eastwood (obviously) and other stars like Al Fucking Pacino, Bruce Willis, Eli Wallach, too many to name but it would be sick just to use photographing them as an excuse to just have a chat with them about more interesting stuff.

I’d like to photograph Courtney Love, M.I.A., Azealia Banks, EVERYONE Come to mine and let’s party, also Zomby just to find out who he is!

What do you keep in your Photography Kit bag?

I don’t even have a photography kit bag, as I’m not a proper girly girl with handbags. My camera goes in my backpack with all the other stuff. I currently use a Canon 7D MK2 with the kit 18-135mm USM Zoom lens.

Anyone you would like to big up?

My Mum, for her constant support, and inspiration, Sadek & Miranda.

Where can we find your work, and more information about you?
