Forbes has shared its annual list of the highest-paid hip-hop acts for 2019. Topping this year’s list for the first time in his career is Kanye West with a pretax income of $150 million USD, hugely thanks to YEEZY’s expected $1.5 billion USD sales grab. He jumps from last year’s No. 10 spot to outrank JAY-Z, 2018’s top earner, who steps down to No. 2 with $81 million USD.
Coming at No. 3 is Drake, moving up one spot with $75 million USD. He’s followed by Diddy who falls from last year’s No. 2 to No. 4 with $70 million USD, succeeded by Travis Scott at No. 5 whose $58 million USD kicks him up from 2018’s No. 15 spot. Eminem also climbs an impressive seven spots to No. 6 with $50 million USD, just above DJ Khaled’s $40 million USD and Kendrick Lamar’s $38.5 million USD. Margot Robbie took to Instagram to reveal the official poster for Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) and finally announce its release date.
The visuals feature a dizzy Harley Quinn in front of miniature versions of herself and the rest of Birds of Prey’s characters. The image may convey cartoonish imagery of a character seeing birds fly around their head after getting hit, or it may just be a representation of Quinn’s crazy mind. Speaking of, the character also has the phrase “mind over mayhem” written on her neck.
Either way, the upcoming DC Comics film will star Ewan McGregor as Black Mask, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary, and Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain. According to IMDB, the synopsis reads: After splitting with the Joker, Harley Quinn joins superheroes Black Canary, Huntress and Renee Montoya to save a young girl from an evil crime lord.
Birds of Prey will hit theaters February 7, 2020.
Lil Baby has dropped yet another collaborative track, this time with Future in the form of “Out The Mud.” The ambitious partnership follows Future’s interview from January with Big Boy, wherein the older rapper tagged Baby and Gunna two of hip-hop’s current GOATs. “I already did what I did. I done been the Trap GOAT. I’m solidified. But right now, they them dudes. They the next dudes to get the new deal, the new money, the new this, the new that,” he praised of the youngins. With flows that fuse almost perfectly above the Quay Global-produced beat, “Out The Mud” turns into the meeting and understanding of the trap’s different phases.

You’ll be able to save Muggles from rogue magical creatures and misbehaving objects from today in the UK.
Niantic will finally start rolling out Harry Potter: Wizards Unite on June 21st. The company has announced the much-awaited mobile game’s launch date outside Universal Studios’ Wizarding World, telling attendees that it plans to hold events for it similar to Pokémon Go Fests.
While the game will only come out in the US and the UK on Friday 21st June, it’s just the beginning of its worldwide launch. Niantic plans to make it available in more regions in the future and promises to release more info when it goes live in other locations.
Harry Potter fans in Australia and New Zealand had the chance to take the beta version of the game for a spin when Niantic chose the regions as its testing grounds in May.
Just like Pokémon Go, it’s a location-based AR game, so you’ll have to walk around and capture magical creatures and objects that escaped the wizarding world after the “Calamity” as a member of the Statute of Secrecy Task Force.
Two years after its initial announcement, Rick Ross has finally dropped off “Act a Fool,” a first taste of the highly-anticipated album Port of Miami II. Assisted by “Gemini (2 Sides)” rapper Wale, the track contains an undeniable callback to 2006’s Port of Miami, but modernized to fit current soundscape of hip-hop. Rozay’s flow is strong as ever, kicking off the chorus with a laidback yet confident bar: “20 billboards in the city, who the f**k is you?” Basing off the record’s debut single, the Florida native is definitely making it seem like the two-year delay was more than worth it.

This week, for Women Crush Wednesday, we have to celebrate our friend Lauren Goodger. She is currently starring in the latest series of the E4 show “Celebs Go Dating”. I’ve never watched the series before, I am now and enjoying it, certainly not for the faint hearted.
Lauren Rose Goodger (born 19 September 1986) is an English television personality, glamour model, media personality and columnist. She starred in the ITVBe reality show The Only Way Is Essex from 2010 until 2012, debuting in the first series before departing in series 6.
Music | J Spades – MMMP4
Most people would say the summer of 2019 started when Mostack dropped his album, not for me, the summer begins when J Spades drops a project, this is fact. J Spades is a East London rapper that I’ve found myself becoming a fan of upon the release of MMMP2 years back, it’s a album I can play at anytime and just vibe to.
It’s been a long time coming, and his new album MMMP 4 doesn’t disappoint, not that I expected it to. J Spades voice and flow is very unique, from a first listen you would think he should be doing bashment tracks with the biggest Jamaican artists out there, although as you keep listening, J Spades mixture of true ghetto Patois, and East London lingo makes his flow original and refreshing in a musical era of “auto tune clowns, I mean clones”.
MMMP 4 is 13 tracks of bangers, some club bangers, something for the girls to twerk to, and tracks for the streets.
3 tracks that stand out to me on this project are
Wake Up , Popping, and Fire over Water featuring Uncle Murda
“Fire over Water”, is not the first international hip hop link up that J Spades has done, and on this track, he gives Uncle Murda the lead where he give you that genuine New York rap flow. But as soon as J Spades steps on the track, and starts rhyming over the banging Brooklyn influenced beat, you’ll understand why he is one of the hardest MCs we have here in the U.K..
Other artists you can cover to hear featured on MMMP4 are Donae’o, Vershon, and Fabian Secon.
I rate the full project 10/10. Another album that will be on repeat over the summer, autumn, all seasons. Thank you J Spades, the summer has begun.
Could we see a return of the iconic Air Jordan 11 BRED, a.k.a. Bannerz favourite sneaker? If this is true, then sign me up for 2 pairs to add to my collection. Saying that, my 2012 pair of BRED 11’s have only been worn a handful of times, and purchasing 2 brand new pairs may sound a bit over kill. Who says you can’t have multiple pairs of the same sneaker in your collection? Look at Dr Dre, he only rocks white Air Force 1’s, and has a vast collection of them ready to wear just once.
Sneaker facts –
The Air Jordan 11 Bred 2019 is one of the most popular colourways ever to be produced on the iconic silhouette, and the sneaker’s OG styling is going to be returning for the holiday 2019 season. First worn by Michael Jordan during the 1996 NBA Playoffs, the sneaker helped him earn another championship and NBA Finals MVP. Images of the 2019 edition have not surfaced yet but the sneaker sports a mixture of Black, White, and Varsity Red. The shoe will feature the same original high-cut patent leather upper and it is still unconfirmed whether they will come with “45” or “23” on the heels.
“If he’s a billionaire now, imagine what he’s about to be,” Swizz Beatz says. “Because he’s only just starting.”
Kasseem “Swizz Beatz” Dean, the superproducer behind some of Jay-Z’s biggest hits (“On To The Next One,” Beyoncé’s “Upgrade U”), looks at Jay-Z as something others can model: “It’s bigger than hip-hop … it’s the blueprint for our culture. A guy that looks like us, sounds like us, loves us, made it to something that we always felt that was above us.”
What’s Jay-Z Worth?
To calculate his net worth, we looked at the artist’s stakes in companies like Armand de Brignac champagne, applying our customary discount to private firms. (He owns 100% of Armand de Brignac and has partial ownership of the other companies.) Then added up his income, subtracting a healthy amount to account for a superstar lifestyle. We checked our numbers with a roster of outside experts to ensure these estimates were fair and conservative. Turns out, Jay-Z really is a business, man.J
Armand de Brignac | $310 Million
Jay-Z has used his music to shill the $300 gold bottles of the “Ace of Spades” champagne since launching the brand with the 2006 video “Show Me What You Got.” More recently, his verse on Meek Mill’s “What’s Free” put a half-billion-dollar value on the wine, which seems like a bit too bubbly a number.
Cash & investments | $220 Million
A vast investing portfolio includes a stake in Uber worth an estimated $70 million. He reportedly purchased his piece for $2 million back in 2013—and then wired founder Travis Kalanick another $5 million in an attempt to increase his holdings, but was rebuffed.
D’Ussé | $100 Million
Jay-Z’s cognac, a joint venture with beverage giant Bacardi, moves almost 200,000 cases and has grown nearly 80% annually. “Jay-Z resonates with consumers who are attracted to the ultra-premium lifestyle,” says Eric Schmidt, Beverage Marketing Corp.’s Director of Alcohol Research.
Tidal | $100 Million
In 2015, Jay-Z submitted a bid to purchase the Scandinavian streaming service’s parent company for just shy of $60 million. He relaunched Tidal later that year with a roster of celebrity investors including his wife, Beyoncé, and other music luminaries, from Kanye West to Calvin Harris.
Roc Nation | $75 Million
This wide-ranging entertainment company started over a decade ago as part of a joint venture with concert giant Live Nation. Roc Nation represents some of the top stars in the entertainment through its sports agency (Kevin Durant, Todd Gurley) as well as its record label and artist-management arms (Rihanna, J. Cole).
Music catalogue | $75 Million
Before the beginning of his stint as Def Jam’s chief in 2004, Jay-Z negotiated the eventual return of his master recordings from the aforementioned label that helped launch his career; in a separate deal with EMI, he clawed back his publishing rights. Wise move: his hits now clock close to 1 billion streams annually.
Art collection | $70 Million
In the song “Picasso Baby,” Jay-Z boasted about a “Basquiat in my kitchen corner.” He probably wasn’t kidding. For over a decade, he’s been scooping up masterpieces like Basquiat’s “Mecca,” purchased in 2013 for a reported $4.5 million. “He’s rapped about it all in detail,” says Fab 5 Freddy, a contemporary and friend of the late painter. “Jay-Z helped educate millions of hip-hop fans mentioning Jean-Michel.”
Real estate | $50 Million
This is the incredible $88 million mansion Jay Z and Beyonce purchased in August 2017, the home has 8 bed, 11 bath and is 30,000 square feet
After welcoming twins in 2017, Jay-Z and Beyoncé bought a pair of homes to match: a $26 million East Hampton mansion and a $88 million Bel Air estate. Jay-Z also owns a Tribeca penthouse, snagged for $6.85 million in 2004.

Nike Running just dropped the Air VaporMax in a midnight navy and laser orange colourway. For summer 2019, Nike Sportswear is using a similar colour palette to dress the Air Max 95 SE.
The sneaker is formed in layers of grey-blue, midnight navy and white with laser orange accents. The sky influenced palette is accented with a dot pattern graphic that flows in a negative and positive form.

The follow-up to 2006’s Port of Miami has been the subject of speculation for years, but Rick Ross just dropped off what might be our first taste of the upcoming album. Aptly titled “Port of Miami II Freestyle,” the Florida native released the new cut on SoundCloud. Packed with tight rhymes and his distinctly hoarse delivery, The Boss proves that he only gets better with age.
The unreleased album has had a long history, with Ross initially announcing the album in March 2017 as Port of Miami 2: Born to Kill. A teaser with DJ Khaled was released a year later, and the Maybach Music founder gave an update to fans in August 2018 as part of its predecessor’s 12th anniversary. In a now-deleted Instagram post, he mentioned that he was just “putting final touches” on the album and that, once again, the follow-up LP is coming soon.
Stream Rick Ross’ “Port of Miami II Freestyle” on SoundCloud below.
The Nike Air Max 98 you see above is said to be this year’s BHM colorway of the model. For some unknown reason Nike decided to NOT drop these back in February. We’re now in the month of May and it looks like this Nike Air Max 98 BHM is finally dropping.
This Nike Air Max 98 BHM comes dressed in a print-heavy upper using two different BHM-inspired patterns that utilize two different sets of colors. The first set of colours uses shades of Brown, Purple and Orange, while the second print that’s noted on the mudguard comes in Teal, Black and Red. Other details include the BHM-branded tongues, Equality printed on the insoles, White laces, a White midsole and a a Magenta hue noted on the branding and Air unit.

A (stylized as “A”) is the ninth studio album by American singer-songwriter Usher, released in collaboration with American record producer Zaytoven, who also produced the album. … The album is an homage to the city of Atlanta, where Usher and Zaytoven grew up. A features guest appearances from Future and Gunna.
I grabbed this album as soon as I saw it on Apple Music. Usher is still undoubtably the truth when it comes to R&B, and teaming up with Zaytoven I was expecting something special, and this album did not disappoint…apart from it only being 8 tracks in length. Is this worth a listen? YES if you are a true R&B fan, and not a fan of mumble R&B that many artists seem to produce.
The stand out track for me is Birthday, Usher delivers a “ATL In The Strip Club” banger, I can hear this being rinsed in sets, and if its not, well, I sure will. My second certified banger on this album is “She Ain’t Tell Ya”, this sounds like classic Usher, explaining to a female friend of a female he obviously was doing something with, this track will have you wanting to sway with a large drink in your right hand, and left hand on her waist, remember i told you about this one!!
All in all, this project gets a solid 10 out of 10 from me, and I’m looking forward to more music from the great one Usher.

Magically able to hear what men are thinking, a sports agent uses her newfound ability to turn the tables on her overbearing male colleagues.
With the much anticipated Lil Wayne project, Tha Carter V being released today, that will be what the hip hop community is focusing on. Kanye West has also announced he will be releasing his new project Yandhi as well this weekend.
In a tweet Ye, has paid homage to Lil Wayne and respectfully announced he won’t release his project on the same day, but a day later. This is what I call Real Recognising Real, and Legends work together instead of against each other.
I’m looking forward to the musical weekend ahead.
After a short break, I am back with my Tunes Tuesday feature, i know this upload is on a Thursday, I forgot to set up the post schedule.
Smerker and his manager Magic, brought me in as his PA DJ for his Butterfly Effect Festival performance in July, which in simple terms, was a shut down over all other performances in the mixtape madness tent on the day, FACTS.
Smerker was toying with the idea of remixing his hit banger Stars in the Wraith, but didn’t want it to be the same cliche MC’s doing this, so he sought out 3 of the current U.K. realist rhymers, Pak-Man, Deep Green, and my favourite J Spades. Shout to Dukus on the beats as always.
Have a watch of the video, and then watch it again, because its a certified banger! Look our for Smerker’s next track dropping soon, we got work to do.
