Fashion | Asics Gel Lyte 3 “Miami Vice”

Asics have long been a top contender in running sneakers, so it’s only fair to see that the brand are pulling out some top notch colour ways, and material combinations for their up and coming Gel Lyte 3 releases. The forthcoming “Miami Vice” pack, sees 2 colours ways releasing, one in a true White leather upper, teamed with orange and blue, and the other part of the pack, are these all black textured leather uppers, with the blue interior, white mid sole and orange soles.

While this colorway of the Gel Lyte 3 doesn’t exactly scream Spring or Summer to us, it’s still a nice sneaker that you can rock during any time of the year. This versatile runner features a black textured leather on the upper while hints of color have been added with a teal inner lining and an orange outsole. A white midsole provides some contrast to the shoe and tonal laces keep the sneaker looking clean.

Music | Skepta – SHUT DOWN

FADER – ‘rather than ‘breaking’ America, I just want British rap to be treated
as just another state – Britain is just another place that raps,’ London grime don SKEPTA told FADER last September .The MC has been grinding at his craft for the past decade, and built strong ties with NYC’s underground over the past couple of years.

Skepta,  his goal got a boost this past month when both Kanye and Drake showed they’ve finally caught up and caught on to SKEPTA, And grime in general; that BRITs performance and that album shoutout (and borrowed line), respectively. Now he’s letting his music to the talking with this heavy track from his forthcoming album, #Konnichiwa. Mastered late last night in London, it’s called ‘SHUTDOWN’ and finds the sharp-footed MC spelling out his come up, while also signalling what he’s up against by including what sounds like an audio rip of a starkly ignorant viewer complaint about the BRITs show.

“This is my new single ‘SHUTDOWN’ produced by myself and Ragz Originale from my upcoming album #Konnichiwa,” Skepta told The FADER via email. “We made about 7 different instrumentals to it but this one was the maddest. Vine has already been going nuts for the video clips we put up from the studio, can’t wait to touch a dance with this one. Big up my bro Drake on the sample, trust me listen.” Yep, that’s Drizzy in actor mode at the end.

Fashion | size? x ASICS Tiger GEL-LYTE III ‘Tsavorite’

Created by Shigeyuki Mitsui back in 1990, the GEL-LYTE III broke the mould of conventional shoe design. At a time when high performance shoes lacked style, Mitsui-san wanted to create “the ultimate performance running shoe with the highest level of technology and function,” but one that was “visually pleasing unlike existing shoes at the time.”

The features – such as the unorthodox, yet functional split tongue, which allows for better fit, and a low to high-density midsole, that offers a better distribution of pressure and weight for its wearer – made the GEL-LYTE III unique. Originally created as a runner, the GEL-LYTE III has moved beyond the track and onto the streets.

Embraced as an everyday staple, it has become one of the best-loved shoes in the industry. The GEL-LYTE III is a time-honoured piece of footwear that easily straddles the line between functionality and innovation.

To celebrate the anniversary of the GEL-LYTE III, ASICS and size? have teamed up to create a GEL-LYTE III inspired by a traditional 25th anniversary gift: Tsavorite.

‘Tsavorite’ – [tsah-vuh-rahyt]

The tsavorite is described as a gem that combines beauty, durability and rarity. Today the tsavorite remains one of the last truly ‘wild’ gems; no treatments or synthetics are known to exist.

Although the tsavorite has qualities which make it an extremely popular gemstone, it lacks adequate supply which has led to the gem becoming extremely rare.

A micro-perforated reflective 3M dominates the upper, representing the purity of the ring whilst the green leather sockliner subtly ties into the gemstone.

The size? x ASICS Tiger GEL-LYTE III ‘Tsavorite’ releases  Friday 6th March, 2015 at 8:00am.  They will be priced at £115 in UK sizes 4 – 13

Music | Big Sean – Dark Sky Paradise

Following the huge single ‘I Don’t F**k With You’ currently dominating US Top 40 radio and clocking over 30 million views of the video on You Tube, Detroit artist Big Sean announces his new album ‘Dark Sky Paradise’ released via Kanye’s G.O.O.D. Music and Def Jam / Virgin EMI.

I’ve given this album my 24 hour listening test, and I can confirm this is worth the money. Big Sean drops some heat in the form of tracks IDFWU, Paradise, Deep and the newest club banger Blessings. The album features appearances from PARTYNEXTDOOR, Drake, Lil Wayne, John Legend and of course G.O.O.D. Music General, Kanye West.

My personal favourite pick from the album is the track “I Know” featuring Jhen Aiko, produced by DJ Mustard. Not your usual DJ Mustard production, and certainly not what you would expect from Big Sean. He promised a new direction, new creativity, and new energy with album, and he has delivered just that. I will keep this album on my iPhone for a while, and certainly continue to play his club bangers in my sets.

Fashion | ASICS Gel Lyte III “Okayama Denim” Pack

Japanese denim is most often used on, well, jeans. But today ASICS ensures the durable fabric finds placement elsewhere, in this case on the Gel Lyte III. In line with the brand’s Spring 2015 lineup, the ASICS Gel Lyte III “Okayama Denim” Pack makes great use of the dark camo denim throughout two Gel Lyte III’s with placement at the toe, collar, heel and paneling. One of the models highlights a blacked-out leather aesthetic while its counterpart takes to red accents at the striping, rear and outsole. Look for the release on February 20th at select international retailers.

Video | Kanye West Yeezy Season 1

Adidas and Kanye West finally unveiled his first collaboration collection, called Yeezy Season 1, to the world on Thursday 13th February, at a secret fashion show in New York, and via link worldwide, which was stream at selected cinemas. If you wasn’t lucky enough to get a ticket to either showing, here is the full video of the collection being unveiled.  One thing that Kanye has proved to the world, once again, is that he is an artist, and I look forward to the official look book on this collection, and more in the future from Adidas and Kanye West.

Feature | Drake vs Everybody

Think, Everyone Hates Chris, but turn it into a website, that features all of his enemies, and make the character Drake, and that is what makes up the website Drake vs Everyone. The website outlines all of the past and present musical beefs that Drake has had. It puts a lot of lyrics that Drake might have dropped on songs into context which makes sense of who he is popping a subliminal shot at.

Music | Drake “If You’re Reading This, it’s Too Late”

Shout to Drake for breaking the internet straight after Kanye’s Adidas launch, not many celebs, or artists would be able to that without dropping some “leaked” nudes. But the talent that is Canada’s top export Drake did what most artists in the lifetime could never do, drop a “mixtape” via iTunes, on Friday 13th and create a buzz that required no marketing budget at all, simples, Drake’s legion of loyal fans spread the word by reposting the mixtape cover on all forms of social media, which saw the mixtape end up in the iTunes top 10 by lunchtime here in the UK.
16 tracks with 1 interlude is what you be getting for your £11.99. Fair to say from the start, it’s certainly a OVO production, with the beats sounding very unique to that OVO flow, add Drake’s lyrics and vocals over them, and this is a mixtape that will not be deleted from your iPhone for a long time. The mixtape includes  some previously heard tracks such as 6 God & Used To feat Lil Wayne. Featured artists in this mixtape also include PARTYNEXTDOOR &  Travis Scott.
drake
Tracks such as Madonna, Energy, Preach, 6 Man, You & the 6, and Know Yourself is a BANGER, love the switch it up style Drake has mastered. are certainly stand out tracks for me, but that is not to say that other tracks get skipped, because they don’t. So the question that everyone has asked me..”is it worth the money?” I’d say yes, especially if your not trying to listen to the same old with every album in your iPhone, this certainly delivers a diversity in sound and creativity that seems to only come to life with such artists as Drake, Kanye, Jay Z, Nicki Minaj, Kendrick Lemar, you seeing the pattern here.

Love is in the air for February with Valentine’s Day coming later in the month. Nike Sportswear is ready for the occasion with a Valentine’s edition of the Air Max 1. The color palette, build and detailing are a love letter to the Air Jordan 1.

BRED style, the kicks are layered in black and red leather on the upper with a white midsole and red outsole. Referencing both the Wings logo and the traditional Nike Air on the tongue of the Air Jordan 1, NSW has placed “Nike Air” on the heel, just bellow the collar.

Film | Ted 2 Official Trailer

Everyone’s favourite foul-mouthed, rude-mannered teddy bear is back in the newly released trailer for Ted 2. The Seth MacFarlane-directed film is the follow-up to the original, which came out back in 2012. Mark Wahlberg stars as John Bennett, who, as a boy, wished that his beloved stuffed animal would come alive to be his friend. Thirty years later, Ted and John are still best buds, getting into all sorts of trouble together. In the sequel, Ted has finally settled down and gotten married. He and his new wife want to have a child but first, he must prove that he is “human”. The first one was full of laughs and, surprisingly, a lot of heart so this one is bound to be one to look forward to, as well. Ted 2 stars Mark Wahlberg, Seth MacFarlane and Amanda Seyfried. Check out the trailer below.

Music | Lil Wayne – Sorry 4 The Wait 2

Lil Wayne couldn’t make it any clearer to his fans and everyone in the music industry, that the business bond between Cash Money and Young Money has been severed and officially no more. With the delay of his Carter 5 album, which was due for release last year, there was a lot of talk about his album being pushed back due to arrival of newer rappers onto the Cash Money roster who took priority over his own projects on the label. To apologise to his loyal fans, Lil Wayne has blessed us with a interim album, in the way of Sorry for the Wait 2.

The intro track, is his version of the club banger Coco, which brings you up to speed and tells you what is what regarding him, and his future with Cash Money. It’s fair to say Lil Wayne has no regrets wanting to leave Cash Money, and is looking forward to his future.

As you listen to the album it’s your typical Lil Wayne flavour until you get to track 11, which is his version of “You Guessed It”. The shots he takes at Birdman on this track are epic, and he has renamed the hook to “Bitch You Jealous”. Lil Wayne has once again delivered a undisputed banger filled 17 track album, with no fillers.

If you haven’t downloaded the free album, jump onto Datpiff and do it now, and I’m looking forward to Carter 5 dropping this spring, no one can stop Lil Wayne’s productions and creative release flow now, it’s Young Money only now, and the future is bright, no more dry rubbing hands.
