Music | Rick Ross Drops “Port of Miami II Freestyle”

The follow-up to 2006’s Port of Miami has been the subject of speculation for years, but Rick Ross just dropped off what might be our first taste of the upcoming album. Aptly titled “Port of Miami II Freestyle,” the Florida native released the new cut on SoundCloud. Packed with tight rhymes and his distinctly hoarse delivery, The Boss proves that he only gets better with age.

The unreleased album has had a long history, with Ross initially announcing the album in March 2017 as Port of Miami 2: Born to Kill. A teaser with DJ Khaled was released a year later, and the Maybach Music founder gave an update to fans in August 2018 as part of its predecessor’s 12th anniversary. In a now-deleted Instagram post, he mentioned that he was just “putting final touches” on the album and that, once again, the follow-up LP is coming soon.

Fashion | Nike Air Max 98 BHM

The Nike Air Max 98 you see above is said to be this year’s BHM colorway of the model. For some unknown reason Nike decided to NOT drop these back in February. We’re now in the month of May and it looks like this Nike Air Max 98 BHM is finally dropping.

This Nike Air Max 98 BHM comes dressed in a print-heavy upper using two different BHM-inspired patterns that utilize two different sets of colors. The first set of colours uses shades of Brown, Purple and Orange, while the second print that’s noted on the mudguard comes in Teal, Black and Red.  Other details include the BHM-branded tongues, Equality printed on the insoles, White laces, a White midsole and a a Magenta hue noted on the branding and Air unit.

Tunes Tuesday | Usher & Zaytoven – “A” [@usher] [@zaytovenbeatz]

A (stylized as “A”) is the ninth studio album by American singer-songwriter Usher, released in collaboration with American record producer Zaytoven, who also produced the album. … The album is an homage to the city of Atlanta, where Usher and Zaytoven grew up. A features guest appearances from Future and Gunna.

Bannerz Words….

I grabbed this album as soon as I saw it on Apple Music. Usher is still undoubtably the truth when it comes to R&B, and teaming up with Zaytoven I was expecting something special, and this album did not disappoint…apart from it only being 8 tracks in length. Is this worth a listen? YES if you are a true R&B fan, and not a fan of mumble R&B that many artists seem to produce.

The stand out track for me is Birthday, Usher delivers a “ATL In The Strip Club” banger, I can hear this being rinsed in sets, and if its not, well, I sure will. My second certified banger on this album is “She Ain’t Tell Ya”, this sounds like classic Usher, explaining to a female friend of a female he obviously was doing something with, this track will have you wanting to sway with a large drink in your right hand, and left hand on her waist, remember i told you about this one!!

All in all, this project gets a solid 10 out of 10 from me, and I’m looking forward to more music from the great one Usher.

Music News | The Carter V & Yandhi releasing this weekend

With the much anticipated Lil Wayne project, Tha Carter V being released today, that will be what the hip hop community is focusing on. Kanye West has also announced he will be releasing his new project Yandhi as well this weekend.

In a tweet Ye, has paid homage to Lil Wayne and respectfully announced he won’t release his project on the same day, but a day later. This is what I call Real Recognising Real, and Legends work together instead of against each other.

I’m looking forward to the musical weekend ahead.

Tunes Tuesday | [@smerkerofficial] Stars in the Wraith remix [Video]

After a short break, I am back with my Tunes Tuesday feature, i know this upload is on a Thursday, I forgot to set up the post schedule.

Smerker and his manager Magic, brought me in as his PA DJ for his Butterfly Effect Festival performance in July, which in simple terms, was a shut down over all other performances in the mixtape madness tent on the day, FACTS.

Smerker was toying with the idea of remixing his hit banger Stars in the Wraith, but didn’t want it to be the same cliche MC’s doing this, so he sought out 3 of the current U.K. realist rhymers, Pak-Man, Deep Green, and my favourite J Spades. Shout to Dukus on the beats as always.

News | Netflix will have to make more European content by law

Streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video will likely soon have to ensure at least 30 percent of their libraries are dedicated to local content in the European Union. A preliminary agreement on the rules is already in place, and Roberto Viola, who oversees the European Commission department in charge of networks, content and technology, said the quota is set to become law in December. He indicated to Variety that the vote is “a mere formality.”

The streaming companies will have to commission European-made shows and movies, buy them or contribute to national film funds. The services will also likely have to make sure the local content has prominent placement in their libraries.

Once the measures are enshrined in law, EU countries will have 20 months to apply them, and Viola noted that member states can opt to increase their individual quotas to 40 percent of local material. The nations can also determine if they want to mandate production of a minimum number of shows and movies in their own countries, and whether they will apply a surcharge on subscription fees to pay into national film funds, like Netflix has to do in Germany.

Netflix is already close to meeting the EU’s 30 percent quota, Viola said; the EU will publish data next month highlighting how much European content each streaming service currently offers. Meanwhile, the EU is also working on rules to require streaming companies and platforms like YouTube(where users upload most content) to pay higher copyright fees to writers and directors.

Streaming services have made investments in some other local markets. Netflix, for instance, is spending $400 million on Canadian content over five years.

Movie Monday | Hell Fest [Trailer]

A masked serial killer turns a horror themed amusement park into his own personal playground, terrorizing a group of friends while the rest of the patrons believe that it is all part of the show. TV | Celebrity Big Brother 2018 Contestants announced

The full Celebrity Big Brother line-up for the upcoming 2018 series has been confirmed.

Reality stars Gabby Allen and Dan Osborne, as well as porn star Stormy Daniels and actress Roxanne Pallett lead the string of big personalities heading into the famous Borehamwood mansion.

The series will be the last on Channel 5, and is set to be the most dramatic yet with its mysterious theme – ‘The Eye of the Storm’.

The popular Bred theme lands on the Nike Air Max 1 Premium this summer, sporting an official colourway of Black, Oil Grey and University Red.
